I’m currently recruiting for a Mechanical Machine Tool Maintenance Engineer to join a global OEM machine tool manufacturer in a permanent onsite position at one of their key aerospace customers.

This role is ideal for a mechanically biased engineer with strong hands-on experience maintaining high-precision CNC machine tools in demanding production environments.

The Role

• You will be responsible for the mechanical maintenance and reliability of CNC machine tools across the site, working closely with electrical engineers and production teams.

Key responsibilities include:

• Mechanical fault finding and repair on CNC machine tools
• Work on spindles, ball screws, linear guideways and tool change systems
• Diagnosis and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Geometric checks, alignment and basic calibration activities
• Root cause analysis of repeat mechanical failures
• Supporting machine rebuilds, upgrades and new installations
• Working with production to reduce downtime and improve reliability
• Maintaining service reports and mechanical maintenance records

What I’m Looking For

• I’m interested in speaking with engineers who have:
• Strong mechanical maintenance background on CNC machine tools
• Experience with precision assemblies and motion systems
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and service manuals
• Confidence working independently in an onsite customer environment
• Experience in aerospace or other precision manufacturing sectors would be an advantage but is not essential.
